The Tau Iota chapter of TriBeta had a fantastic October, with two GBMs and several club activities! We also celebrated the acceptance of 12 members to our service committee.
Our social chairs hosted a powerpoint night, where participants showcased their creativity and humor through entertaining presentations on quirky topics. We also had a self care night for our members! Attendees enjoyed face masks, calming music, and soothing activities, leaving everyone rejuvenated and uplifted for midterm season!
Our departmental chair led members on a Duke Gardens Climate Change Educational Tour! It was a perfect day to connect with nature and enjoy the beauty of the gardens, making for a refreshing and inspiring outing. Additional departmental events this month included University Research Week, Biology Majors Research Info Session, and UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Tour.
Our service chairs hosted a food drive for the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill, where members brought in bags of non perishable items to be donated. Members had the opportunity to donate blood at the red cross, to cook a meal for those staying at the Ronald McDonald House, and donate funds towards sending food to Western North Carolina in the wake of the hurricane.
The Executive Board also participated in team bonding at Chapel Thrill Escapes! We completed the escape room in one of the fastest times the room had ever seen and we are so grateful to Chapel Thrill Escapes for hosting us.
