UNC TriBeta had a General Body Meeting today! It was our first meeting with our new members! We discussed plans for future departmental, social, and service events. We were also thrilled to host a guest speaker, Connor Marciniak, from Gift of Life, a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding bone marrow donors for individuals of all backgrounds. These donations are crucial for the treatment of many diseases, such as blood cancer, and many of our members signed up to be potential donors.
Our service chairs collected clothing donations for Communityworx, and will continue accepting donations until 10/24. The next service opportunity will be at Carolina Community Gardens on 10/24 (more details incoming).
We will be meeting tomorrow at Linda’s on Franklin for Linda’s Trivia for a social event, so be sure to join us! Next week, we will also be hosting a social event at the Yogurt Pump on Franklin.
Dr. Yaiza Canzani’s mathematics seminar this week serves as a departmental event, and we have several more seminars available in the following weeks. Be sure to attend these, as they offer extremely valuable exposure to STEM professions.
Thank you to everyone for attending!
