Membership Tiers

Chapter Member: Any individual who meets the requirements to become a member of Tri-Beta will become a Chapter Member. The requirements are listed on the Becoming a Member Page.

Senior Membership Tiers: Upon reaching your senior year, you can upgrade your membership to become a nationally recognized member of Tri-Beta which acknowledges you in the national database! Additionally, you receive a cord at graduation showing your recognition. There are two types of Senior Membership:

  1. Associate Membership: If one has yet to complete three biology courses with a grade of B or better, is not in good academic standing, and/or has not yet completed at least one semester of their sophomore (2nd) year, they may apply for associate membership. There are no requirements for Associate membership beyond an interest in the biological sciences.
  2. Full Membership:  In order to become a Full member of Tri-Beta, one must have completed at least three biology courses (with at least one of these courses not being an introductory course, i.e. BIOL 101), have obtained a grade of B or better in these courses, have completed at least their first semester of their sophomore (2nd) year, and be in good academic standing. Associate Members who have since met these requirements are encouraged to upgrade to Full membership.
